Overview of How a Lathe Works

This is a basic overview of a metal lathe. I've wanted to learn how to lathe for a while. Mike Boyd said he was looking for guest hosts for his channel. He times how long it takes him to learn a new skill. This was my excuse to finally learn about the lathe. Tim taught me how to use it, and my goal was to thread a bolt. This is part 1, which is just the overview. Part 2 I will be my adventures in threading.

Oh, and we didn't get the guest spot, which is why this is on our channel.

Side note: I keep saying spindle in this video when I mean to say chuck.
