Explore Herculaneum's buried theater!

Descend into the little visited ancient theater of Herculaneum!  The monument - used for theatrical performances in Roman Herculaneum- remains buried under the ash and mud deposited from the eruption of Vesuvius, so we'll have to walk through the tunnels of past excavators to view the seating and stage building.  It's still a maze that gives a sense of the dangers and efforts of the original explorers, tunneling through the hard volcanic material.
