#BehindTheScenes: Watch as artist Ramesh Gorjala accentuates the figure of Ganesh with bold black lines. On the deity's skin, there are finely detailed Kalamkari scenes of mythological stories.

At a young age, Ramesh Gorjala learned traditional Kalamkari art from his uncle. His original artwork now combines tradition and modernity with effortless ease, bringing gods and goddesses to life in a fresh approach. In his paintings, the large bodies of Hindu deities—Krishna, Vishnu and Ganesha—fill up the canvas, while their skin becomes the stage for ancient tales acted out by intricately painted Kalamkari figures; each painting literally contains stories within stories.
