How To Install an AK Bayonet Lug on a Rifle, so a bayonet can be mounted again to the underside of the rifle's barrel. I had the bayo lug put back on my Century NPAP AK, a Serbian Zastava M70 AKM variant in 7.62x39.

Done by a local gunsmith, it cost me a total of $55.00 to have him fix the bayonet lug. He put a bead of welding on the front gas block, where the ak bayonet lug should be, and then filed it into the correct shape. I had asked him to specifically fit the new bayonet lug to the Yugo M70 Bayonet I provided, but found most bayonets fit it just as well.
The Zastava line up of ak variants has been very popular on the market as a budget friendly ak rifle or pistol. The M70 line of rifles and pistols includes the N-PAP and N-PAPdf, O-PAP, PAP M92pv Pistol, M85 ak pistol in .223/5.56, M70AB1 and M70AB2, as well as the original sporter configuration simply designated PAP.
AK-47 Bayonets from various countries are readily available, and fairly reasonable in cost. Bayonets can be a collection on its own, and offers tons of amazing history and interesting facts. If you are unable to find an original bayonet of your liking, there is also companies who make reproduction bayonets as well.
