The mother of murdered teenager Brianna Ghey has said she does not “carry any hate” for her daughter’s killers, as she called for social media apps to be banned on smartphones for under-16s. Esther Ghey is also campaigning for searches for inappropriate material to be flagged to parents. Brianna's killer Scarlett Jenkinson began to explore the dark web at the age of 13. By 15 she was a killer. Jenkinson is thought to have watched videos of torture and murder online on the dark web. It’s a question every parent wants the answer to - how do we keep our children safe in what Esther Ghey calls the “Wild West” of the internet?

Lorin LaFave, whose son Breck Bednar was murdered by an online groomer, says that there should be more education about the harms of the internet.
