Nahargarh Fort was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur. Walls have been built around this mountain for protection, it is said that this fort was earlier the capital of Amer.
No one had ever attacked this fort, but still many historical events have happened here, mainly including the battle of Marathas with Jaipur in the 18th century.
During the Indian Rebellion of 1847, the Europeans of this region, including the wives of the British, were all sent to the Nahargarh Fort by Raja Sawai Ram Singh of Jaipur for their protection.
