Learn how to make this quick and easy Namkeen Lassi, also called Salted Lassi. It's the perfect Indian Yoghurt Drink for thie summer that’s so refreshing and cooling. This is an authentic Punjabi recipe that does not contain any sweetness at all. It is a savory drink that's best enjoyed with breakfast or as a snack. This easy recipe is just Yoghurt, Water and some spices. This Namkeen Lassi recipe takes only a few minutes to make and it can be prepared in advance. You can refrigerate it for up to 3 days. However, it tastes much better and the texture is lighter when it’s fresh. If you want to save it for later, it's best to re-blend or re-whisk it to achieve the same frothy texture.

The recipe is loved by people of all ages, but especially kids. It’s a wonderful way to add healthy yoghurt and calcium into your children’s diets. Namkeen Lassi is high in calcium and doesn't contain any sugar. It’s also great in extremely hot temperatures during the summer months. The cooling effect of yoghurt make this an essential Indian Summer Drink.

This recipe is a wonderful drink for vegetarians as well. If you do not eat dairy, you can substitute the yoghurt for Almond Milk or Soy Milk. However, you may have to adjust the spices to achieve a similar flavour.

Namkeen Lassi Ingredients:

Cold Thick Yoghurt - 1 cup
Cold Water - 1/3 cup
Kala Namak (black salt) - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Roasted Jeera (Cumin) Powder - 1/2 tsp + for garnish
Crushed Pistachios - for garnish
Mint (Pudina) Leaves - for garnish
