Ingredients for super crispy Shanghai Chicken:
- 500-600 g chicken breast;
- 1 egg;
- 4 cloves of garlic;
- 10-15 g fresh ginger;
- 1 g of salt for beating the eggs + 1 teaspoon for the "dough" for the chicken;
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, or Chinese pepper, Sichuan pepper, for extra flavor;
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes;
- 1 packet of baking powder;
- 20 g cornstarch;
- 200 g wheat flour;
- approx. 200 ml cold water;
- 20 g white sesame seeds;
- 10-15 ml sunflower oil;
- 1 liter of sunflower oil, specifically for frying, or any other oil suitable for frying;
