The last oil train from Barry Beach Victoria, was at the end of June 1992. Included in the train were a number of flat wagons for the purpose of bringing back the last load of 84 lb/yd  rails recovered from the Welshpool to Barry Beach Junction section of the South Gippsland Railway. The rails were loaded at the Junction and the train was divided while the rail was loaded so as to clear the level crossing there. After loading, there are some shots of the train on the South Gippsland Railway on the way to Leongatha and is seen at a variety of locations including on the Tarwin River timber trestle bridges. At Leongatha, the train - the last regular train past Leongatha, stops for a break, with the locomotives in the passenger platform giving a chance for an inspection closer up.
The rails between Barry Beach Junction and Foster were of lower quality and were later taken up and cut up to be loaded into containers and exported for scrap (according to what I was later told by a contractor). Between Foster and Leongatha, the rails were of similar quality to those loaded at Barry Beach and were recovered and transported similarly.
