Syed Ali Geelani

Police on Monday arrested the Chairman of Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani outside his residence at New Airport Road here. Soon Geelani Sahab stepped out of his residence to move towards Anantnag (Islamabad) a large contingent of Police appeared on the spot and arrested him. He was taken to Police Station Humhama. Geelani Sahab was scheduled to participate in a rally to be held at Lal Chowk there after the Zuhar (afternoon) prayers to express solidarity with people there and pay tributes to the recent martyrs.
