Republicans left sputtering as anti-abortion zeal runs amok, puts IVF at risk

The Republican embrace of Christian extremist perspectives has put them in the uncomfortable position of having to answer for deeply unpopular policies including restrictions on abortion rights and now the effective criminalization of in vitro fertilization treatments that often involve the disposal of not-implanted embryos.
