The period after the Decline of the Mauryan Empire saw the emergence of several powers. In the Deccan region, we find that the Satahanvas emerged in this period. The Satavahanas who at their peak controlled most of Deccan started around the upper Deccan region and their history can be divided into two parts: The history of the early Satavahanas and the history of the later Satavahanas. In this video, I talk about the early Satavahanas before their conflict with the Shakas of western Kshatraps.
