Dressing up an animal puppet, is that possible?
We know that we can dress up the Living Puppets human puppets, but what if you don't have a human puppet at home, in your class, group or practice, but an animal puppet that you want to take with you in different themes? Can you dress it up and if so what size will it fit?
For this video I worked with Sem the giraffe, from the brand Living Puppets (www.living-puppets.de/produkte/handspieltiere/131/…. What can they handle and what should you pay attention to when buying clothes for a puppet?

The hand puppet is much more than a toy and can be worth gold in the hands of an educator. When the power of a hand puppet is consciously used, a pedagogical climate is created in which children feel safe, heard and seen.
With conscious use I mean that you will work together with your puppet and start thinking from three roles (of the child, your puppet and your own). Zooming in on the content and qualities that you want to develop, and giving the puppet a place in the role of the recognizable and accessible friend. If that succeeds, it will be possible to shape everything you want to teach children, what you want to pass on and mean to a child, through the puppet.
I have been working with the puppet as a tool every day since 1994, was the owner of handpop.nl, the knowledge center for hand puppets, from 2004 - 2019, tested thousands of puppets, wrote the book "The hand puppet as a pedagogical tool", and help (grand) parents, teachers, PM-ers, group leaders and youth workers of 2 - 8 year olds how they can achieve more results by adding a hand puppet to their toolbox. I provide online training and coach online or on Bonaire.
