In Conversation with Laura Miotto : Designing Exhibitions

Museums are increasingly recognising the importance of fashion exhibitions. In this talk, exhibition designer Laura Miotto discusses the social and cultural implications of fashion in museums, and considers the ties between craftsmanship, design, visual culture, and fashion. From the spatial layout to the selection of garments, colours, and lighting, museum exhibitions offer a unique way to understand fashion and creativity. By looking at exhibitions that have taken place in Singaporean museums over the past few years, Laura reflects on the role exhibition design plays in presenting and communicating fashion to the public in a different light.
