I produced this video showcasing one of the most acclaimed and honored American poets of the 20th century... National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winning poet Richard Eberhart ( 1904 – 2005 ). The poem featured in this video is one of his most admired, and most anthologized, works....It's entitled "The Groundhog" ( 1936 ).

Eberhart wrote over a dozen volumes of poetry in his lifetime. He taught at many Colleges and Universities, won numerous prestigious awards, and was Poet Laureate of The United States from 1959-1961.

The video includes a biography of Eberhart, audio of him reading the poem, and the text of the poem...along with attendant imagery and music, to enhance your experience.
