Self-cleaning surfaces are materials with the inherent ability to remove any debris or bacteria from their surfaces. Self-cleaning glass is a type of glass with a surface that keeps itself free of dirt. They have a very thin coating of nanoparticles. self-cleaning coatings on glass are divided into two categories: superhydrophobic and superhydrophilic. The goal of developing superhydrophobic surfaces is to create the self-cleaning properties of the Lotus Leaf that has the inherent ability to repel all water in nature. Superhydrophobic self-cleaning surfaces have low sliding angles which allow for water to easily be removed.
