The Panzerkampfwagen III,
Sd.Kfz. 141.
Was a German medium tank
developed in the 1930s,
and was used extensively in WWII.

It was developed to fight other
AFV and support the Panzer IV.
But it became obsolete
in the role, because
of the T-34 and more
powerful anti-tank guns.

The Panzer IV had more
potential and was there for
redesigned to mount the
7.5 cm Kwk 40 gun.

The Panzer III was later mounted
with the 7.5 cm Kwk 37 L/24,
and was better suited
for infantry support.

But the Panzer III, still became
obsolete in his role
and production ended
in 1943, when only
5.774 were produced.

This Panzer III can be viewed
at the Saumur Tank Museum
in Saumur, France.

It was made at the
Daimler-Benz AG, Marienfelde,
Berlin, Germany.

It has no combat history.
You would think this
Ausf.F. is an Ausf.H.
but it was upgraded
to an Ausf.H standard, sometime
during the war.
