Nasfund on Porgera

The National Superannuation Fund, or Nasfund, has welcomed the announcement by the Government on the impending and much-anticipated reopening of the Porgera Gold Mine in Enga Province.

In acknowledging this development, Nasfund CEO Ian Tarutia, says the decision by Government to work together with former Porgera developer Barrick Niugini Limited is one that bodes well for the future of the mine and its employees.

Leading up to the announcement earlier this week, the business community in the country had anticipated over the first quarter of the year for the announcement to be made at the earliest to boost investor confidence.
