Several intersecting love stories: the proud beauty of the Rada and the deceased gypsy Loiko Zabar; Golden-haired Yulishka, in love with Loiko; Nobleman Siladi, passionately fond of the Rada ... The life of the gypsy camp takes place against the background of the life and customs of Bessarabia in the second half of the 19th century, the provincial outskirts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
