Prambanan Temple - Yogyakarta Indonesia

Prambanan, the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia, is located in the special region of Yogyakarta. The first mention of Prambanan was in a Syiwagrha Inscription dated 856 AD. With three main temples here; Shiva the destroyer of the universe, Vishnu the keeper of the universe, and Brahma the creator of the universe. The high structures are typical of Hindu architecture. Given that Prambanan temple is located fairly close to Borobudur temple, it tells us that the two temples and religions (Buddhism and Hinduism) lived peacefully next to one another. This video will hopefully give you a sense of this magnificent spectacle and an insight into Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
