Groups voice opposition to RBC takeover of HSBC Canada – November 23, 2023

Green Party Leader Elizabeth May and Green MP Mike Morrice joins representatives from various non-government organizations in Ottawa for the launch of a campaign against the Royal Bank of Canada’s proposed acquisition of HSBC Canada. The Competition Bureau of Canada approved the acquisition in September 2023, but the deal still requires approval from Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI).
