Welcome to Manpura and Charfasson, remote islands under Bhola District, in southern Bangladesh. Which is home to roughly a million people with extremely limited access to healthcare. In these remote islands, with support from the Swedish Postcode Foundation, Concern Worldwide and Partners in Health and Development (PHD) have been working here for the past two years with the communities and local government to support the Union Health and Family Welfare Centers that provide government health services in rural Bangladesh.

Midwifery-led health services for the islands people in Bangladesh. The project will be dedicated to developing a sustainable locally managed maternal and neonatal service for poor women and children, which provides skilled institutional deliveries, and other associated services to ensure life and health. Education and awareness-raising activities will enhance positive changes in health seeking behaviour and ensure family support during pregnancy care. Affordable and client-cantered quality respectable services by trained midwives will encourage poor families to seek services from service centres very close to them.
