In this video, I share my experience of setting up and testing the Creality Falcon 2 12w laser, a diode-based laser that can engrave and cut various materials. I bought this laser to add some personalization to my wood projects, and I was impressed by how easy it was to use. Unlike my old CO2 laser, which had alignment and calibration issues, the Creality Falcon 2 came almost ready to use out of the box. The only thing that slowed me down was my old laptop, which took forever to boot up.
The laser came with a micro card that had a test cut file, which I ran successfully on a piece of wood. I was amazed by how fast and precise the laser was, and how clean and smooth the cut was. The laser also produced very little smoke or dust, which made the process more pleasant and safe. I also downloaded an online cut file and tried it on the same material, and it worked great with just two passes. The laser was able to cut through the wood effortlessly and accurately, and it also engraved some text and graphics with high resolution and contrast.
I am very happy with the performance and the power of the 12w laser, and I look forward to learning more about the software and the possibilities of this machine. The laser has a user-friendly interface and a lot of features that allow me to customize and optimize my cuts and engravings. The laser also has a built-in air assist that blows away the debris and cools down the material, which improves the quality and durability of the cuts and engravings.
The best part is that I can upgrade this laser to a 40w one if I ever need more power, since the frame is the same for both models. This gives me more flexibility and scalability in my woodworking projects, and also saves me money and space.
