PlanSwift Advanced: Create a Grid Tool Template

We go step by step into how to use the Grid Tool and make that into a template for measuring grid areas like a cut pattern or rebar pattern. We'll show you how to make a custom formula that will add the perimeter and all the grid footage that tool makes. Also, we will show you how to remove the perimeter from the calculation if all you need is footage of the grids. Easier than it sounds, really. Formula for changing the Quantity field (you are replacing the [Takeoff] field)... For adding perimeter plus grid lines, enter: [!Sum(Linear Total)] For adding the grid lines with no perimeter, enter: [!Sum(Linear Total)] - [Linear Total] If you want to round either formula, surround the formula with a roundup function: RoundUp([!Sum(Linear Total)]) You can also select the Insert Special icon at the top and it will insert this for you.
