The Children of Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn

The third son and seventh child of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn was reportedly Queen Victoria's favourite child. In 1879, Prince Arthur married Princess Louise Margaret of Prussia. They had three children together: Princess Margaret, Crown Princess of Sweden, Prince Arthur of Connaught, & Lady Patricia Ramsay. Two of Prince Arthur's children died before him; In 1920, his eldest child died from sepsis, along with her unborn child, and Prince Arthur's only son died from stomach cancer in 1938. Prince Arthur died in 1942, at the age of 91. His title passed to his grandson Alastair, who died only fifteen months after Prince Arthur.
