Thank you for watching! I’m hoping to shed some inspiration through my work here fabricating prosthetic and orthotic devices. It is an incredibly rewarding profession that lets us flex our creativity and craftsmanship to help those people who inspire us all. The prosthetic liner is made with a flexible plastic called Northvane where it is heated and vacuumed formed over the plaster cast. An auto expulsion value is installed to allow the user to don and doff the prosthesis with ease. The socket frame is made by laminating a mixture of fibreglass reinforcement and stockinette layup material with epoxy / acrylic resin, making it both durable and lightweight. As well a 3 prong adapter is laminated in between the lay up material to serve as an attachment point to the knee. The socket is then finished with a thin final lamination encasing the butterfly sticker design which was cut using the cricut. I’m addition, this leg also is equipped with an alleles prosthetic cover which complements the socket pattern.
