This video shows how you can control the motion of geometries as a function of the forces generated from bulk material in a coupled simulation with EDEM and Motion Solve. Specifically, the speed of the motor used to drive the inclined auger will be controlled based on the forces generated by the particles on the two sensor plates. The control logic for the motor was implemented in such a way that if the sensor output is zero the motor speed is 0. The motor speed will linearly ramp from 0 to 200 RPM between a sensor output of 0 to 0.16, and the motor speed will be held at 200 RPM if the sensor output is 0.16 or greater. After watching this video, you will understand the workflow required to implement force-based motion control that can be tailored to your application.
