میرے گھر جو بھی رشتہ لے کر آتا تھا میں اس سب سچ بتادیتی تھی کہ میں بانجھ تاکہ کل کو کوئی مجھے الزام نہ دے اور ابھی تک جتنے رشتے بھی آئے تھے وہ اسی وجہ سے پلٹ گئے تھے کہ انہیں تو اپنی نسل بڑھانے کے لیے اولاد کی خواہش ہوتی تھی مگر یہ عورت وہ عجیب تھی جو اپنے منہ سے کہہ گئی تھی کہ اسے تو بانجھ بہو ہی چاہیے اور اسے بچے نہیں چاہیں۔ میں نے کافی دن سوچ کر پھراماں کو ہاں کر دی کہ جو ہو گا دیکھا جائے گا آخر میں کب تک یہاں پر ماں باپ کے آسرے پر پڑی رہوں گی۔ کبھی نہ کبھی تو مجھے شادی کر نی ہو گی تو کیوں نہ اسی سے کرلوں جس کو میرے بارے میں سب حقیقت پتہ ہے۔ میری ہونے والی ساس مجھ سے اتنی خوش تھی کہ میرے لیے ڈھیر ساری شاپنگ کر کے لائی۔ حیرت انگیز بات تو یہ تھی کہ وہ تھے بھی کافی امیر لوگ اور انہیں دولت کی بھی کوئی کمی نہیں تھی اور پھر انہیں تو کوئی بھی اچھی لڑکی مل سکتی تھی تو انہوں نے میرا انتخاب کیوں کیا۔ یہ سوال میرے دل کو چین نہیں لینے دے رہا تھا تو میں نے ایک دن اپنی ہونے والی ساس سے پوچھ ہی لیا تو وہ کہنے لگی کہ ہاں ہمیں تو کوئی بھی لڑکی مل سکتی ہے مگر جب میں نے تمہیں پہلے نظر میں دیکھ لیا تو سوچ لیا تھا کہ جو بھی ہو تم ہی میرے گھر کی بہو بنو گی تو میں نے پھر کسی اور کی طرف دھیان ہی نہیں دیا۔ اگر چہ بات یقین کرنے والی نہیں تھی مگر مجھے کرنا پڑا کیونکہ اس کے علاوہ اور کوئی چارہ بھی تو نہیں تھا میری شادی کے دن بھی قریب آگئے تھے اور اس لیے مجھے سارے خدشے ایک طرف رکھ کر خود کو نکاح کے لیے تیار کرنا پڑا۔ مجھے تو لگا تھا کہ
جتنے امیر کبیر وہ ہیں تو شادی بہت ہی ۔ دھو مم دھام سے
کریں گے لیکن میں چونک گئی کہ جب ایسا کچھ بھی نہ
