What is Faith ?
Believe: To accept as true or real
Is God true?
Is God real?
The Bible says, "Without faith no one can please God. We must
believe that God is real and rewards everyone who searches
for Him. Hebrews 11:6
But how can we believe when we can't see God?
*Find God in his beautiful creation
"The heavens keep telling the wonders of God, and the skies declare what he has done" Psalm 19:1
"For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities - his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God." Romans 1:20
*Find him in people
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created both male and female.” Genesis 2:27
You are God's masterpiece!
*Find God in what people give and do for others.
Teens work in Kenyan village
Teens collect rocks to help repair village road
Teens volunteering at an orphanage in Myanmar
"Don't get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don't give up. " (Galatians 6:9)
So how can I FIND faith .......to believe???
"...faith comes by hearing,
and hearing by the WORD of GOD".Romans 10:17
*Reading the Bible
“Understanding Gods Word brings light to minds of ordinary people. Psalms 119:130
"You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands."
Psalm 119:73
*Praying
King David wrote:
"I love the LORD because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!” Psalm 116:1-2
*Spending time with friends who have faith
KIDS CHURCH, youth group, church camps, Christian RE class
DOUBTING THOMAS
Jesus' friends were afraid of the Jewish Leaders, and on Sunday evening they locked themselves in a room. Suddenly, Jesus appeared in the middle of them! He greeted them and showed them his hands and side. When the disciples saw the Lord, they became very happy.
Now Thomas wasn't there when Jesus appeared to them. So later they told Thomas, "We have seen the Lord!"
But Thomas said "First, I must see the nail scars in his hands and touch them with my finger. I must put my hand where the spear went into his side.
I WON'T BELIEVE UNLESS I DO THIS!"
A week later the disciples were together again, but this time, Thomas was with them. Jesus came in while the doors were still locked and stood in the middle of the group. He greeted his disciples and said to Thomas...
"Put your finger here and look at my hands! Put your hand into my side. Stop doubting and have faith!"
Jesus said,
"Thomas, do you have faith because you have seen me?
The people who have faith in me without seeing me are the ones who are really blessed!"
If you want to know if God is real,
it requires something of you…
JESUS SAID,
“Ask and you will receive
Seek and you will find
Knock and the door will be opened unto you."
Matthew 7:7
WILL YOU...ASK ?
WILL YOU...SEEK ?
WILL YOU...KNOCK ?
It's up to you to FIND... FAITH
