At least 121 people are
At least 121 people are feared to have been killed after a crowd stampeded at the end of a religious event in northern India, with many women victims.
More than 150 others were injured and taken to hospitals after the crush in a village in the Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh, according to local officials. A team from India’s National Disaster Response Force headed to the region on Tuesday.
Reports suggested that the tragedy occurred as people rushed to leave a stuffy and overcrowded marquee as the event was winding up.
