If you are looking for a portable, quick to set up, tent come camp shelter then take a look at the Oztrail Esay fold Stretcher Shelter. We used this with my daughter and she loved it! It was comfortable, and provided her with a place to sleep which was up off the ground and an awning so she didn't get wet when she opened the door to the shelter.
We didn't actually put up the mesh under the shelter, but this would be useful for putting your sneakers on, or storing your torch.
