Khuṭbatul-Ḥaajah خُطْبَةُ ٱلْحَاجَةِ [Sermon
Khuṭbatul-Ḥaajah خُطْبَةُ ٱلْحَاجَةِ [Sermon of Need], translation of the verses by Hilali/Khan, recitation by Muḥammad al-Minshaawiyy
إِنَّ ٱلْحَمْدَ لِلَّٰهِ،
'Innal-ḥamda lillaah,
Verily, [all] praise be to Allaah,
نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ،
naḥmaduhoo wa nasta`eenuhoo wa nastaghfiṛuh,
we praise Him and we seek His help and we ask for His forgiveness,
وَنَعُوذُ بِٱللَّٰهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا،
wa na`ooẕu billaahi min shuṛoori 'anfusinaa,
and we seek refuge with Allaah from the evils of our selves
وَمِنْ سَيِّئَاتِ أَعْمَالِنَا،
wa min sayyi'aati 'a`maalinaa,
and from our bad deeds,
مَن يَهْدِهِ ٱللَّٰهُ فَلاَ مُضِلَّ لَهُ،
maẙ yahdihil-laahu falaa muḍilla lah,
whomsoever Allaah guides, none can lead astray,
وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَلاَ هَادِيَ لَهُ،
wa maẙ yuḍlil falaa haadiya lah,
and whomsoever He sends astray, none can guide,
وَأَشْهَدُ أَن لاَّ إِلَـٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ،
wa 'ashhadu 'al-laaaa 'ilaaha 'illaḷ-ḷaahu waḥdahoo laa shareeka lah,
and I bear witness that there is no [true] god except Allaah, alone, with no partner,
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ؛
wa 'ashhadu 'anna muḥammadan `abduhoo wa ṛasooluh;
and I bear witness that Muḥammad is His servant and His Messenger;
yaaaa 'ayyuhal-laẕeena 'aamanut-taquḷ-ḷaaha ḥaqqa tuqaatihee wa laa tamootunna 'illaa wa 'antum-muslimoon; (3 : 102)
102. O you who believe! Fear Allaah [by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden] as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always,] and die not except in a state of Islaam [as Muslims (with complete submission to Allaah)].
yaaaa 'ayyuhan-naasut-taqoo ṛabbakumul-laẕee khalaqakum-min-nafsiẘ waaḥidatiẘ wa khalaqa minhaa zawjahaa,
1. O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person [Adam], and from him [Adam] He created his wife [Ḥawwaa' (Eve)],
wa khalaqa minhaa zawjahaa wa baththa minhumaa rijaalan katheeṛaẘ wa nisaaaa'aa,
and from him [Adam] He created his wife [Ḥawwaa' (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women;
wat-taquḷ-ḷaahal-laẕee tasaaaa'aloona bihee wal-'aṛḥaam,
and fear Allaah through Whom you demand [your mutual rights], and [do not cut the relations of] the wombs [kinship].
'innaḷ-ḷaaha kaana `alaikum ṛaqeebaa; (4 : 1)
Surely, Allaah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.
yaaaa 'ayyuhal-laẕeena 'aamanut-taquḷ-ḷaaha wa qooloo qawlan sadeedaa;
70. O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allaah and fear Him, and speak [always] the truth.
yuṣliḥ lakum 'a`maalakum wa yaghfir lakum ẕunoobakum,
71. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins.
wa maẙ yuṭi`il-laaha wa ṛasoolahoo faqad faaza fawzan `aẓeemaa; (33 : 70 and 71)
And whosoever obeys Allaah and His Messenger [ṣallaḷ-ḷaahu `alaihi wa sallam], he has indeed achieved a great achievement [i.e. he will be saved from the Hell-fire and will be admitted to Paradise].
أَمَّا بَعْدُ؛
'ammaa ba`d;
to proceed; [end of Khuṭbatul-Ḥaajah: you may mention your need]
فَإِنَّ خَيْرَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ كِتَابُ ٱللَّٰهِ،
fa'inna khaiṛal-ḥadeethi kitaabuḷ-ḷaah,
verily, the best speech is the Book of Allaah,
وَخَيْرَ ٱلْهَدْيِ هَدْيُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،
wa khaiṛal-hadyi hadyu muḥammadin ṣallaḷ-ḷaahu `alaihi wa sallam,
and the best guidance is the guidance of Muḥammad, blessings and peace of Allaah be upon him,

إِنَّ ٱلْحَمْدَ لِلَّٰهِ،
'Innal-ḥamda lillaah,
