At the start of July we had the pleasure of hosting a special Loud Poets x Bad Betty Press gig, featuring Anne Gill, Shanay Neusum-James, Gray Crosbie, and Jake Wild Hall, with wonderful open mic performances from Georgia Bartlett-McNeil, Musenga Katongo, Colin Nelson, Themo H Peel, Angela Legg and Lewis Brown! Musenga Katongo is a tremendous Zambian poet who spent several months performing in Edinburgh in early 2022. We were so lucky to meet him and get to feature him on our stages! His poem 'Mwaiseni Mukwai' is an ode to Zambia and a celebration of his country's hospitality.
