Launched by train companies across Great Britain, the Two Together Railcard gives couples and pairs of friends or relatives a third off adult rail fares, when they travel together. The Railcard costs just £30 a year and there's no limit on the number of times it can be used. The potential savings are huge. The Railcard can be used to save on Standard and First Class Anytime, Off-Peak and Advance tickets for travel throughout Great Britain after 0930 Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and bank holidays. For example, two Super Off-Peak single tickets from Birmingham New Street to London Euston normally costs £45.80 but with the new Railcard the two passengers can get to the capital for just £30.50 -- a saving of £15.30. Or, two Advance single tickets from Newcastle to Leeds will now cost £14.50 -- saving £7.50. David Mapp, commercial director at ATOC (the Association of Train Operating Companies), said: "The Two Together Railcard is the first new national Railcard in 30 years and will make train journeys even more attractive for pairs of passengers nationwide. "It's ideal for visiting family and friends, day trips or weekend breaks, so the Two Together Railcard will encourage more people to leave the car at home and take the train instead. "As well as savings on rail travel, the new Railcard also offers savings on attractions, theatre shows, restaurants, hotels and more."
