Assassin's Creed Liberation has been one of my most highly requested movies over the last few years, especially since the HD remaster was released. I had always wanted to do it, but I had placed it in low priority, as I wanted to focus on the main games and other games I felt had better stories or were more popular. After completing Uncharted 4, I finally didn't have anything else I wanted to do more than AC Liberation, so I gladly proceeded to that project. I hope you enjoy!

This project was a little unique compared to the other Assassin's Creed games, particularly because of the Citizen E missions. If you aren't familiar, this game was the first project put out by "Abstergo Entertainment", the home entertainment division of the Templar-run corportation. As such, the story you see has been somewhat edited to remove anything that might paint the templars in a negative light. I'm not quite sure why they decided to focus on Aveline as opposed to someone like Shay from Rogue, but whatever. However while the scenes are edited down, Erutio has hacked into the code making it possible for the player to unlock the unedited versions of those scenes.

Initially I considered the idea of simply replacing the original cutscenes with the Citizen E versions, and while that would have presented the story in a more concise manner, with more of a natural flow, it would have entirely removed the only semblance of a modern day story the game had, which I felt was important to the lore of the series, and it would have also taken away something special about the ending. So I decided to simply place them in after the sequences they replaced. Funny enough, the second Citizen E memory doesn't actually replace any cutscene in the game, so I was unable to include it in my movie. I tried to find a place for it, but it just didn't fit. It's a good scene though, so I recommend looking that up if you haven't seen it.

I'm not sure what movie I'm going to do next. I know later this year I will be doing Rise of the Tomb Raider, after the PS4 version is released, since that's the version I'm getting, but I'm still not certain whether I'll be making anything between now and then. I have a few ideas, such as the Arkham Origins: Cold Cold Heart DLC, or maybe the WW1 missions from AC Syndicate, or I also have a few remasters I've been considering, such as Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, The Last of Us, or the Uncharted Trilogy. I'm also currently playing Heavy Rain on PS4, and depending on how I feel about that game, that may also be an option. In the end I think I'm going to wait until Rise of the Tomb Raider has a release date before I make any decisions on my next movie, and that decision is going to be based on how much time I would have to make it, as some projects certainly take longer than others. Heavy Rain in particular would likely take a very long time.

I also wanted to make a note that after I finish playing Heavy Rain, I'm going to replay Beyond Two Souls on PS4, and when I do that, I think I'm going to stream the gameplay of that, since I got quite a few requests to stream another game during my Uncharted 4 streams. So look out for that one if you enjoyed my last stream. As for future streams, as I said before, I only plan to stream games that I replay, as I want my first time enjoyment of games to be uninterrupted by the distraction of commenters.

Assassin's Creed Liberation was played on my PC with the following specs:

AMD FX-8370
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
16GB RAM
2560x1440

1440p was the maximum resolution I was able to achieve at a solid 60fps, and 4K dropped it below 30fps. I capture at 30fps as I don't feel 60fps is a good look for movies, so I needed solid enough performance above 30fps to guarantee a good capture. Unfortunately NVIDIA Shadowplay captures in variable frame rate, so the performance doesn't look as solid as it was, and the VFR caused a lot of audio sync and dropout issues during capture. Normally I use an external capture device to avoid this, but my HD PVR2 doesn't support anything above 1080p.
