Zoom Personal Meeting Room and ID - What it is & when to use it

Your Zoom Personal Meeting ID is a way for you to be accessible with the same meeting ID and personal Zoom link.

This is ideal if you're meeting people regularly, but you shouldn't share your Personal Meeting ID (PMI) too widely.

A PMI can be used for regular meetings. If you have back-to-back meetings and use your Personal Zoom link, you should enable the Zoom Waiting Room, if you don't want people to be joining an existing meeting that's finishing up.

A Zoom personal meeting ID (and Zoom personal link) may be good for a teacher or someone hosting office hours, as it saves you from creating a new link for each attendee / meeting session.

As Zoom explains:
"Once a participant has the link to your PMI, they can join it at any time the meeting is in use, unless you lock the meeting or use the Waiting Room feature to admit participants individually."
