No one wants to see a tax due message when they’re filing their returns. But that’s nothing to get worried about; there’s always a reason behind tax being due.
Maybe your new employer didn’t deduct tax accurately after you moved into the new job. This is actually very common.
You could also see tax due if you earned income other than your salary. This is also common.
Whatever the reason, you need to be doubly sure that there are no outstanding taxes to be paid. If you see a tax due message, you should redo the tax computation by adding up the income you’ve earned and checking Form 26AS to see how much tax has been paid.
You will have to pay the remaining tax to the government before you file your returns.
