Vh1 did 8 years of
Vh1 did 8 years of their Fashion Awards which they hoped would be an experience that was part Met Gala, part VMAs. It was a bumpy road trying to make it interesting to the public who knew little about couture, names of the new crop of supermodels or even who many of the designers were.
But they succeeded in 97 in getting a great crop of Hollywood names to show up including Jim Carrey, Demi Moore, Courtney Love, Claire Danes, Naomi Campbell, Bono, Rupaul, Mariah Carey and more. And with performances by the Rolling Stones, En Vogue, ZZ Top, Fiona Apple and Jamiroquai, there was no shortage of music for the models to strut to.
Kudos to hosts Harry Connick Jr. and Ashley Judd for keeping this slightly esoteric back-patting evening rolling along.
Interestingly enough - Ben Stiller made his Zoolander debut here.
And, of course, everyone looks FABULOUS.
(although the first installment in 1995 is the best of all of 'em IMO)
