In this video I compare two classic analog desk emulations from Waves - the SSL 4000 E series and the EMI TG12345 produced for Abbey Road Studios. The SSL was first released in 1979 and is still in use today, heard on countless records over the years. The TG12345 was created by EMI engineers in the late 60's specifically for Abbey Road Studios, and was most notably used on the Beatles “Abbey Road” and Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon.” See how they stack up against one another on a live drum recording.
Audio Starts - 1:54
Processing Breakdown - 2:37
Audio Back and Forth - 6:08
