It is ran and operated by both Oahu Transportation Services and Honolulu County. TheBus has two yards for the fleet which is Pearl City Manana and Kalihi-Palama. TheBus currently holds 480+ buses and 117 routes. It has been established and opened to the public in the year of 1971 and has been running since then. Route 1 is one of the main and busiest routes in TheBus system. This route services Kalihi Transit Center heading down East to terminate at Kahala Mall or Hawaii Kai. The route also North King Street, Chinatown, Downtown, South King and Beretania Street, Kaimuki, Aina Haina, Hawaii Kai Drive, and Koko Marina. This route runs from 4am-1am everyday. Route 1 is based off the Kalihi-Palama bus facility.
