This is Frank with NaturePest your pest geek and we're going to be discussing how to get rid of flies with the fly hunt natural organic fly trap. It is a reusable fly trap originally designed agricultural, for horse farm and cattle, Fly hunt is a diy fly trap. Now, this is an amazing product because it does not use any synthetic chemicals. It is one hundred percent 25b exempt from federal registration, meaning the federal government doesn't require it to be registered. It is a very simple product to use and I'm going to demonstrate it. When you get your fly hunt kit, you've got the refill that is the attractant. Now, the secret to this trap is twofold.

One is that it uses a trap that you simply put together and basically it's a little bucket and it has these little traps.

And what this design is made to do is it's made to trap the fly in the bucket. The fly cannot escape. When the fly goes in there, it basically will die of stress, exhaustion or simple days of fly cycle, depending on the fly that you're trapping, whether it's horseflies, whether it's domestic houseflies, Musca domestic, whether it's different species of flies, Red-Eye flies, you're going to get the fly to behave and basically get in here, get trapped and the fly gets in through the little holes and it gets trapped and it can't get out what it's looking for The it's light to get out. And this is why we have a clear lid. So what happens is the fly will come in here. This puts the lid on it. They're trying to escape because they're looking at the light and they're basically just bouncing on that top and they're just going to die of stress or exhaustion. And this traps hundreds of thousands of millions of flies in this bucket a month, depending on where you're at. We're on a farm and they have horses and they have pigs and they have sheep and bulls and they have birds. They have a manure pile right here next door, which is compost. So all kinds of flies are in here and this thing will trap. I'm getting hit with flies as I'm talking to you. But all you have to do then is basically take your bucket and you're going to fill it up about halfway. Let me get over here and you're going to fill it up about halfway about a gallon, maybe a little bit more, you want to get it up to the edge of this once you fill it, and then you can just top it off. All right. And we're going to take.

The active ingredient going to shake it up a bit, it's one leader active ingredient, and it does have a pungent smell.

Remember, we're trying to attract flies. There are two things that flies are attracted to. Most people think, well, it's just manure.

As we're pouring this in, the flies are flocking over here to it and coming here next to it.

And it smells basically like manure.

And then it has another attractant in it, which is basically uses pheromones out of carbohydrates, yeast sugars, because flies need sugar for energy and they're looking for this. So it's a powerful combination. It does have a bit of an odor. It's not too strong.

Once you're done, let me show you, we're going to the more water you can put in here, the better, because what you want is there's going to be evaporation there.

But you also want the flies to have enough time for the flies. Flies are going to soak up water. They're going to soak up the humidity in there.

There's going to be evaporation in here. And so what we're basically going to do then is we're going to snap on the lid.

Now you go and you want to hang this, you can put it on the ground, you can put it on a surface, but ideally for catching flies, you want to be between four and six feet, which is the ideal height for flies. Believe it or not, there is an ideal height. Eight to 10 feet is probably too tall. You could put it on something like this on a barrel. Leave it there. You could put it flies. You can see they're already starting to walk around it.

And what I'm going to do is I'm going to put this aside and we're going to leave it here.

And we're going to show you in about 15 to 30 minutes how many flies are actually on there.
