The very first flat glass
The very first flat glass (floating glass) made windows for homes and fish tanks for parlors. The planted aquarium allowed Victorians, fascinated with the natural world, to bring that world into their homes. Aquarium societies achieved huge popularity. This was a wonder that could be kept in the home.
Fascination and learning followed this little glass box. It was not until electricity became wide spread that the aquarium began to diminish in popularity. Radio, television, and computers have all but replaced a fascination with nature with a reliance upon human ingenuity.
Father Fish wants us to make the transition back to an age of wonder where nature inspires us with its never ending mysteries.
