Welcome to Witch City! These days Salem, MA is mostly known for the Salem Witch Trials which took place in colonial Massachusetts in 1692. But, there is so much more to this magical town!

While we were still quite limited due to covid restrictions, we made the most of our day experiencing the best things to do in Salem. We began the day relaxing in Salem Common and  then hopped over to Ashley’s favorite spot - Haus Witch!

Haus Witch is an independent boutique in the heart of Salem where you can find everything a modern witch might need (and a few cute pillows, too).

After a nice bowl of ramen al fresco at Kokeshi, we head out in search of a few famous Hocus Pocus filming locations. We found the Old Town Hall where the Hocus Pocus Halloween party was filmed, then found the Ropes Mansion where Allison lived in the movie.

Afterwards, we strolled over to the Derby Waterfront District to enjoy the gorgeous November weather. This place is perfect for taking a break from walking around to take in the fresh air and boats sailing by.

Your trip to Salem isn’t complete without experiencing the iconic Witch Walk. Led by a real, practicing witch, we walked all around town (including the Salem Witch Trial Memorial) and learned about Salem’s history of witchcraft and it’s modern day resident witches and warlocks!

We round out the day with the best sweet treat in town - Goodnight Fatty! This is a MUST DO in Salem. These chunky cookies are really special and totally delicious!

We hope you enjoyed our Salem travel vlog and, as always, we’ll see you in our next video as we KEEP GOING PLACES!
