Today we celebrate 77 years of independence from the colonial forces, yet, one is forced to ask if we are really free. We might have achieved political freedom, but our minds are still colonized; we suffer from colonial hangover. Unfortunately, even today our history is laid with examples and glorification of the colonizers and invaders - how can we, then, call ourselves free? It is thus, imperative to understand how colonialism works; and how the colonial education system, colonial societies, and colonial epistemology still exist. After understanding these nuances of colonialism, one shall take a step towards decolonization.
