Padar Island is a small, lush tropical island located in the Flores Sea, Indonesia. This stunning island is part of the Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is considered one of the most beautiful islands in Indonesia.
One of the most popular activities on the island is hiking before sunrise. Many tour boats anchor near the island so that tourists can start hiking early morning, and arrive before the golden hour. It only takes 30 minutes, (or more, depending on your pace), to the summit where most people stay, and another 10-minute hike if you want to go to the highest peak! Starting the hike early can be tricky because it’s dark, and some parts of the hiking trail are steep and strenuous. Take your time, but also be mindful of reaching the top before the first rays of the sunrise.
