What an absolutely incredible hike
What an absolutely incredible hike in one of our favorite parts of Malaysia!
Malaysia has been such a unique stay, and we are so glad to have had the opportunity to spend so much time here! From our first monkey sightings in Penang, which were incredibly memorable (and a little scary!), to the gorgeous nature and amazing food, we have loved so much about this country which got us so excited to explore Langkawi.
Langkawi amazed us with its natural beauty and the hike we did today, Telaga Tujuh (also known as Seven Wells Waterfall), definitely contributed to this. We started by walking within 3 feet of monkeys which included getting up close with two mothers holding their babies! We were holding our breath, but the monkeys couldn't have cared less about our presence. The trail then took us to the top of the tallest waterfall where we walked the catwalk and got some phenomenal views of the surrounding forest.
The main attraction of the hike for us, however, was swimming in a waterfall! We continued up the hike and eventually came to a secluded spot with a small but deep pond at the bottom. Here, we spent a long time enjoying the relaxing water. This stop was even better than expected! Especially because we only shared the spot with a handful of people and even eventually had it to ourselves!
On our way back down we headed to the bottom of the massive waterfall which did not disappoint. It looked even larger from the bottom and was such an incredible sight.
What an amazing day and perfect stop on our trip around Malaysia! We’re so excited to explore more!
