Okay where do i start? I should have done this in multiple parts because my phone died before I could finish but at least at that point I was mostly just rambling 😎 first point: foxes are extremely crafty animals. They are escape artists and so its important you observe their behaviors in the yard when out of the kennel or off the leash for many weeks before leaving them to roam free for long periods of time.

Remember, the only (mostly) sure fire way of keeping your fox safe is keeping them in a galvanized kennel with a double door system. But knowing your fox will allow you to understand their habits and behavior. Ex: do they like to race past you as you open a door? Do they like to climb trees(notice I have trees in my yard but they are terrible for climbing and charlie hates being in trees, so i know he wont) do they like to dig down deep like a real life fox?(charlie has always been a fox poser, hes too lazy to survive the wild!) If so then this system wont be enough for your yard.

One thing I didnt have time to mention is the shed. Charlie loves sleeping under the cool shed in the summer. And that is incredibly important to provide a cool space because most red foxes are miserable in the heat.

Let me know if you have any questions!
