The Shangri-Las were formed in 1963 in Queens New York they were named after a local restaurant and consisted of two pairs of sisters Mary Weiss, Betty Weiss, Marge Ganser and Mary Anne Ganser. Many photos only show 3 of the girls as Betty disliked the stage, so preferred not to join the group on tour.
