Steps to follow.
STEP 1.
Checking Compatibility
-Check the label of your Chromebook for the model number and Google for the Specs. (this works on Chromebooks with Intel processors).
-Go to the website: https://coolstar.org/
- Select your manufacturer and processor from the list.
#Note if your processor is not on the list then your Chromebook is not compatible to run Windows OS.
You need at least 20 GB of internal storage to run Windows OS on a Chromebook.
I recommend using 32GB and above.
Another site to check if your Chromebook can run Windows OS.

STEP 2.
Creating your 64-bit Windows 10 bootable drive.
-Download Rufus if you already have the ISO;

-Create a Windows 10 bootable drive online

STEP 3.
Put your Chromebook into developer mode.
Plug in your charger.
Back up your files before starting this step.
- Press ESC + REFRESH + POWER
-Press Ctrl + D
-Press Enter to turn off OS verification.
-Press Ctrl + D
-System will transition to developer mode in 30 seconds
Your Chromebook will Restart and Beep twice when it is done transitioning into developer mode
Connect to WIFI and it will automatically check for Chrome OS updates
STEP 4.
Disable write protect on Chromebook.
-Remove all the bottom cover screws and remove the cover.
-Remove the screw with WP or arrow by it. The screw is unique from the other screws on the motherboard. It has a broad flat head.
If after careful observation of the motherboard and you can't find the screw watch this video.

STEP 5
Download Utility Firmware.
-Browse as Quest and open Chrome browser.
-Press Ctrl + Alt + T (terminal opens)
-Type "shell" and press Enter.
- Type this Utility firmware download commands.
cd;curl -LO -k https://mrchromebox.tech/firmware-uti... && sudo bash firmware-util.sh
- Select the option "Install/Update UEFI (Full ROM) firmware".
-Press "y" and press Enter (2x)
-Press "y" if you want to create a Stock backup(at this point, insert your empty USB drive)
or "n" if you do not want to create a backup.
The firmware will be downloaded and installed within some minutes.
-Press enter to return to the main Menu and p to turn off your Chromebook.
STEP 6.
Booting from USB Drive and installing Windows.
Plug in your External keyboard and mouse.
-Insert your 64-bit Windows bootable drive.
-Turn on your Chromebook and immediately press on the Esc key on your keyboard.
- Navigate to Boot Menu and select your drive from the list to boot from the Windows drive.
-Select the Language and click Install.
-Select I do not have product keys or enter your product keys.
- Select your preferred Windows type or select Windows 10 Pro.
-Accept license term
-Select custom install.
-Delete all the partitioned drive each at a time or press Shift + f10 to open the command prompt.
-Type "diskpart" and press enter
-Type "list disk" and press enter
- Type "select disk 0" and press enter.
- Type "clean" and press enter.
Cleaning successful.
-Type "exit" and press enter. (2x) to exit cmd
-Click on the Previous arrow and Select Custom Install.
All partitions are now deleted.
-Create a new partition, Apply, and click next
-During OS installation, you will be asked to Enter your PC name, password and agree to some terms.
STEP 7.
Download drivers and check for updates.
-Go to the website: https://coolstar.org/
- Select your manufacturer and processor from the list.
-Select your Chromebook model and download the available drives.
