This is a video that I have been preparing for a long time, maybe a year, gathering materials that I want to show you. I was specifically looking for #creatures that are totally real but look like something out of nightmares. For this we also have a warning at the beginning of the video that it is only for #brave people who are not afraid of insects or other creeps. 🐝 You will find out some very interesting #facts about our planet and its little inhabitants. Naturally we will stick to #science and share some interesting facts about them and where they live for example.
We start with bipallium. In the year 2020, while filming a sci-fi film in Indonesia, Netflix crews come across a mysterious worm that they decide to track down. Although this genus of worms has been known to science for years under the name Bipalium, its Indonesian cousin is very insidious. The closest thing to a real-life #pokemon pikachu turns out to be… a spider, with spikes that look a lot like the cartoon character. What you saw is a female specimen that reaches 2-3 cm, while the males are only 4 millimeters. As babies, they are deep yellow, which suggests they are poisonous, but they are not. The species is the sharp-pointed microtena found mainly in Honduras and Central America. I don't know if they teach you this in #school but I aim to show you weirder stuff. 😀 I want to introduce you to the insect that has the most painful sting in the whole world. This is the executioner wasp reaching 4 cm in length with a threatening yellow-orange color and is not really aggressive if it is not provoked.
Jumping to #australia , which is known for its weird nasties and nightmare-inducing creatures. Did you know that in many places while walking on the beach, there are real monsters lurking under your feet. To see them, you just need to rub some #fish along the shoreline and if you're lucky, you'll be able to pull out a giant sandworm like this. This is literally a living hair on your screens and the video speed is not rushed, that's how they move in water. In Bulgarian they are known as live fibers or live hairs because they are only 2 millimeters wide.
I advise you not to have #food around you and not to eat while watching this video because there is some very interesting footage. However, you can get together with #friends and #family and bring some #diversity into your everyday life with this video! I wish you a pleasant viewing of 13 real creatures from nightmares.
